We don’t like to boast, but we’re immensely proud of our Associates! Every day, they challenge themselves to work in a way that creates a better future for people, pets and the planet, so it’s important they know how much we appreciate them.
That’s where NHL star T.J. Oshie comes in.
As part of our “Have you tried M Yet?” contest, we partnered with Oshie for a once-in-a-lifetime fan event to promote the new M&M’S® caramel. We selected seven winners to meet T.J. — but we knew it was also a great opportunity to treat some of our very deserving Associates. After all, with our headquarters in McLean, Virginia, we have no shortage of Capitals fans!
One of those Associates is Brad Figel, Vice President Public Affairs North America. Brad has been regularly attending Caps games for 30 years — passing his love of hockey onto his children. Not only did Brad get to meet the fan favorite, but he was able to bring his wife and daughter along for the fun.
At work, our Associates are tackling significant issues — from climate change to food safety to global poverty. Alex West, Director of Global Public Affairs, says the event was a reminder of the importance of working for a company that also values taking time to have fun.
“It shows Mars cares about what matters to Associates — we’re committed to D.C. as a global headquarters and the things that matter to us — like our favorite sports teams,” West says.
